Fox Red Labrador

Fox Red / Silver / Charcoal Labrador

Here I would like to present the rarest colours of the Labrador Retriever. These are the colours Foxred, Silver and Charcoal. As a passionate Labrador breeder I am always enthusiastic for new information and surprises from this race. Foxred is a very old colour pigment, which was forbidden for many years and now enjoys a popular comeback. This colour was bred from the dark-yellow Labis. The prohibition was resisted by a small circle of breeders who opposed the ban thus saving the colour from extinction, also adding to it's rarity. Silver and Charcoal has it's roots date back as far as the 19th Century. Silver was bred from chocolate and charcoal from black. One statement that is commonly made is that there had to have been a Weimeraner introduced into the bloodlines to produce the silver colour. This statement has been proven false by genetic testing from the AKC. I am very proud that I may rank myself now among the European-wide small circle of breeders, who are breeding these colours. More information about my dog breeding and can be found under www.labrador-paffenwinkel.com

All my dogs are free from HD-0, ED-0, PRA and cataracts

The foxred colour is much more intensive than shown here in the photos.
